Stan Bowles died today, aged 75.

RIP.

Maverick.  In the same mould as the likes of Tony Curie, Rodney Marsh.    He is the sort of player Dilly would play every week in every position.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I would loved to have watched a team that featured all three of them plus Gazza. Entertainers one and all.

Think those 3 would have been a bit long in tooth to have been on the same pitch as Gazza, Rod😂

How about Frank Worthington up top ?

Funny memory of Stan.
Game Ipswich v QPR at Portman Road, Stan had already been booked. Referee was speaking to Mick Mills ahead of the inevitable booking, Stan was standing behind the ref trying to make Mills'y laugh.

The lovely story ( true or otherwise) of Stan not coming out with the other players at 2.55 as he wanted to watch the 2.55 horse race.  Imagine that today.😂

Weary, surprised if Mick Mills ever laughed.  He was a dry old stick.

Mallard, No Mick would not ever cast his eyes toward Stan.

Not sure how to write this in allowable language, but Stan was indicating to Mick that the referee masturbated.

Imagine what punishment would have been dished out today had that been caught on camera ?

That would have made for an interesting VAR review?!

Mall' i wasn't really thinking generationally - just players. I would probably also have found room for Best and Ronaldinho! The football equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters?

Another great player gone, I always remember a story Marsh told when playing for England when Ramsey  shouted to him in a training match that if he didnt work harder  he would "pull him off at halftime" to which Marsh replied, "lovely, at QPR we only get an orange", needless to say, he never played for England again.
