Saturday v Farsley
« on: February 22, 2024, 08:16:44 PM »
Lots of the wet stuff laying around, with more forecast for tonight.

Anyone seen the pitch recently?

Views on Saturdays game being played or postponed?

I know there's time for things to improve but I would have thought it was wet enough already, without todays rain.

i know its a different sport  but watched the rugby league on tv last night. before the game the pitch looked  immaculate  didn't take long for it to look like a ploughed field
even the commentator said that will take some time  to get the pitch sorted out now.  our pitch isn't great after a little rain let alone the monsoon  we are having  i know the club need the entrance money  but i can imagine a lot would need to spent on putting the pitch right  if we play.

Pitch cut and lined. The pitch also has no standing water - unlike the walks and no pitch inspection is due  :scarf: :scarf:
Subject of course to the sky opening up

Huge game tomorrow.  Have to make sure Tuesday nights hard fought win isn’t tossed away at home tomorrow.  Think there is a definite uplift with the fans so a big opportunity for AL and his team to show how much they have come on since the new investment came in allowing the squad to be boasted.

Does anyone know if ‘Joe’ has actually made an appearance at a Lynn game yet ,

If he hasn't, presumably the lights would have been turned off at the end of January.

Money to keep going must have come from somewhere, and as we were told Joe was investing, I think we'll have to go along with that until told otherwise.

Not just kept the lights but made a significant investment in new players to strengthen the squad.

SC’s EDP column should answer your question Cigar.   Seems our owner keeps repeating his need of the loan he took out to be written off and for money to be given for him to fund his hobby.

Mallard. Will you please lend me a Fiver?

I'm not sure I'll be willing to pay it back though.

Its still a good deal for you though.

Where funding is concerned, for many football supporters at all levels the end justifies the means?

Which is why football needs an independent regulator, there are many walks of life where protections are deemed necessary to avoid 'the market' having a free reign (often at the detriment of individuals) and to me football fits this to a tee.  The landscape needs to be changed  to reduce the incentive to gamble to progress which just creates round after round of unaffordable wage inflation as others have to keep up to compete.

And the moral ground, where the money is sourced!

Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle. The list goes on!
