Lynn suffer a 3-0 defeat away to Spennymoor, in their last game of the season.

Certainly one to forget this one.   In the end it was job done.  AL has an important couple of months ahead in terms of recruitment.

Which of the Lynn owned players would you keep for next season ?

Jones
McFadden
Hargreaves
Walker ( a given)
Margetts
Crowe
Stephens
Hughes
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what itís all about ?

Dixon Hodge between the sticks yesterday.

What are they planning to do with him?

Jones the saviour in many games this season (could be said his numerours important saves kept us up), but he can't go on forever.

missing a few contracted players there Mallard. I'm sure Ronan, Clifford and Cybulski have another year. The main incentive for AL is securing a deal for Cameron Hargreaves, The squad needs a massive rebuild, Better recruitment is certainly needed and a good strong positive pre-season, judging by AL comments lately the players certainly didn't have that.

Thanks for the info LM.  Not sure that Lakeland fancies Clifford ( was loaned out).Under contract players can still be moved on.  No point in keeping them onboard if they donít figure in the plans.  Not sure the other two mentioned  would help you get to the play offs.

Interesting summer.

I wonder how deep Joe's pockets might be? Will summer signings be more akin to pot noodles or Fabergť eggs?

Interesting summer.

Oh yes, well aware about that, Clifford started at Spenny Saturday and got a nice cut for his troubles. Think Ronan might stay as was impressed with his perfomances towards the end of the season before injury. Like i said keeping Hargreaves is the big priority

I saw Clifford was back in for the last game.  Was that cos we were low on defensive numbers or his loan spell having run itís course.   If Lakeland can get Barrow in then Ronan is gonna struggle.  Still think we can do better if Barrow doesnít join in the summer.

Agree  re- Hargreaves.  Really surprised TW didnít come sniffing after him last summer.  Then again he did take Junior. Nepotism over common sense  there it would seem.

Lord, whatís your thoughts on Coulson, can he do another season at this level ?   I guess it depends who he gets partnered with.

I think its reasonable for supporters to expect a major rebuild during the summer.

Although we avoided the drop, the last 6 games would have seen us sitting in a lowly 20th place in the form guide.

Despite Jones numerous heroics, we still conceded 9 goals in those games.

Unless AL is confident that he can get a lot more out of the current squad next season, surely logic would dictate that (unless we want more of the same in the new season), some serious changes will have to be made.

Jones as back up to Dixon-Hodge, Hargreaves, Margetts and Crowe.

If the budget allows Stephens as Hughes as squad players.

Need someone like Barrows (right back who can also play centre half) plus two new centre halves, 2 new midfielders and a couple of forwards as a minimum, I would think.

All need to be hard working fit individuals with experience at this level. If they have a bit of flair, that's a bonus. Times have moved on........Bowles, Marsh, Currie etc, although fun in the day wouldn't get in a starting eleven these days unless their fitness and work rate improved dramatically .
Any player who has the required fitness level for NL and great flair to go with it , will be in the EFl.......we have to be realistic in terms of the football we expect, I feel.......the only exception would be the inducement of a huge budget and wages to attract EFL players in (Wrexham for example).

Listening to AL post match interview from Saturday.  It very much sounded like Dixon Hodge might not be part of the squad next season.  Or am I reading to much into what was said ?

I thought that Dixon-Hodge was mightily impressive until he picked up that long term injury.

Mallard, sorry for the delayed reply to your question regarding Coulson, Think he could still play a part in the squad, I think signing Greg Taylor could be key as I think hes tightened up the back line. BUT maybe AL might ditch the 5 at the back..

Can you really see Taylor and Coulson playing as a 4 ?  They wouldnít want to leave to much space in behind .  Need to sign a decent 6 if they do go with a 4
