Lynn start the season with a fine 3-1 home win.

Have to say I was well impressed with what I saw on the field at The Walks today.  So many positives.  It was reminiscent of the Culverhouse’s day, albeit with a completely different style of Football.

The stand out player for me was the latest signing Cody Johnson.  Once he is dialled into everyone else things will improve further.   We look a side full of goals.  Could have have had 6/7 today with clear cut chances.  Though in fairness Warrington had a couple themselves.

Decent gate of over 1000. Hopefully for Alfreton that will get pushed up to 1100 plus.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

A fine performance all round, by everyone.

Cody Johnson looks a coup, Tommy Hughes is a real tidy footballer, who as Adam Lakeland said in his interview, with a full pre-season behind him should reap the rewards.

But they all played well and could have had more goals today.

Which brings me onto my one gripe - and again, the boss wasn't happy either - that stupid penalty by Gold.......I can't swaer on this forum, so lets just say it was rubbish........really rubbish, including a rubbish run up.

By all means try that when we're 4-0 up, don't try it  when there's only one goal in it!!
Again, as Lakeland said, that miss then affected him a few minutes later when he had a one on one with the keeper and he fluffed his lines.
But, he'll get 20 plus goals this season, so I shouldn't be too harsh.

One other "gripe" - why weren't the away fans in the corner??
I didn't like them having the whole end behind the goal

With Gold think it is a more positive outcome to look at what he can do rather what he can’t do.   So much wrong with his game for sure.  However he is the focal point to get us up the pitch and is a real handful for any defender.  Think we have a player this time who looks much sharper and is putting in the extra yards, more so than the last time he was with us.   Have to say think this is his level.  30 goals plus this season.

Interesting thought going forward will be how will AL fit Margetts into the line-up when he returns ?  Nice problem.  The same may well go for Coulson and indeed Wilson.

What are the rules with regard to numbers in terms of how many named subs can you go with and how many can you use ?

One of the best problems a Manager can have. Good size, quality squad. How to keep each and everyone of them happy?  :scarf:

Hi, Walks in the sunshine. The game wasn't segregated. The away fans could go anywhere.
