It looks as if the Lynn News have put in a Paywall on their articles.

Apparently this means if you read 5 articles within a certain time frame, you will be blocked unless you register with them. It's not unusual for the Media to do this.

Registering is free, so I've just done it and have had this email come through to me:

I came up against this register or no access to news. I'm not impressed at all. I don't like being bullied into signing up just to have the honour of faster news and an email I don't want and probably won't read.

Since YLP has joined with Lynn News they have complete control and a monopoly over local news coverage. (I'm assuming that the EDP doesn't cover much news relating to the club)

I for one regret the passing of a free local paper.

I wouldn't disagree about the loss of a free newspaper, but if it's not profitable then it was only going to go in one direction.

As far as the sports reporting in YLP, I don't think many will miss that too much.
