Fine margins yet again.  Need to find away of killing teams off and not leaving the door open.  Drawing  to many games, throwing points away.  We have 13 points.  11 points is half way.  Think we are better than that but we need to get on a run otherwise it could be a season mid table mediocre.  Surely Rowe is better than that ? I'm sure he thinks he is but the proof of the pudding...
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about ?

dillydilly

We lack guile and slipperiness, apart from Williams and Crane, and why not Gyasi AND Marriott together?....

Tennylad

Dilly, IMHO Marriott is no where near the player he was 6 years ago. Like us all time has caught up with him. Now all the hype has settled down, I think we are a mid table team at best .

I think we are better than mid table but we are playing a 'brand' of Football that is classed as expansive going forward but leaves gaps to exploit going the other way.  When we don't kill teams off then we leave ourselves wide open for teams to nick something off us.

Rowe can blame the officials, pitch's, whatever. Ultimately he delivers the squad picks the team  and dictates the tactics.  I really don't think James Rowe would consider himself a mid table, step 2 Manager at this stage of his career.

I would think with JR's qualifications, he should be operating at league 1 or Championship level as a coach or maybe manager. But for whatever reasons he's at our level on maybe 50 k a year so life is not all bad . As a Lynn fan for over 50 years, we find ourselves in a decent league competing with ex league teams who don't want to be in this league . Check out Chester's fans forum. I would imagine some Wrexham fans will be moaning if they don't get promoted. Supporters always want more . That's how it is . Let's enjoy the Linnets and remember where we came from .

Just like the Officials he continually moans about, the players he recruits and the players that play for the opposition, he's at this level for a reason.

I think in fairness to the manager referee standards in this country are at an all time low. Just look at premier league refs and how many big mistakes they make, they have VAR to help and still get it wrong!

For many fans it's the inconsistency of decisions in the same!

I thought Rowe was saying the Officials are all consistent, and that's the problem.  :dontknow:

Consistently wrong.

Ever since I can remember when a team doesn't win then it always seems to land at the door of the ref.

However whether he/she is good, bad or indifferent they are not the ones failing to find the onion bag and not ones letting them in at the other end.

Managers/Coaches are quick to blame official in public yet refuse to blame any of their own players on an individual basis when we all know those players will be getting pelters in the changing room.

In Rowe's post match he basically said himself, the players the staff need to do better.  Of course they do.  We are 9th with a team who was meant to be up there challenging.

Nine games in. Under achieving it feels to me, but think we are capable of so much more. Just seems we do not know when to stick and when to twist.  Hopefully Rowe gets that sorted

It's been said numerous times before throughout the history of football, that poor refereeing decisions tend to equal themselves out over the season.

Not many Managers post match will mention the ref on the back of a victory by saying we got all the decisions off the ref today to get us that win.

It's about filtering out the BS most Managers will try and stick into the fans after a game. Some fans I guess want to believe it and need that.

One guy who give an honest appraisal of his team post match is Setch. He doesn't fanny around looking to blame this that or the other. When his gets beat he says it like it is.

Lot to be said for that
