What might have been!?

A purely academic exercise I know but if things had gone our way at Barwell, there would have been I believe a realistic possibility that we would now be looking forward to hosting Carlisle?

Well(!) they might, Mallard but there is more than a possibility that we could have beaten them as they did not score their second goal at Barwell until the 90th minute.

Does though illustrate what a fine line separates success from failure?

Not getting to face Diamonds at home was the real sickener. I think there would have been massive interest generated for that game. Not just being the final hurdle, but the ex Lynn players returning to The Walks and also the fact that Diamonds travel well and would have probably brought a few hundred with them given the magnitude of the fixture. Could've easily had a couple of thousand turn up in all.

First round proper would've been amazing though. Last time we made it the Stortford game was one of the best atmospheres and biggest rollercoaster of a game I've seen watching Lynn.

Aside from the glamour and excitement, very significant loss of revenue.
