King's Lynn 4 Quorn 2
1st October 2011
STRIKER Jack Defty was back to his best as the Linnets continued their FA Cup adventure in an epic game at The Walks.
Defty was on target with Lynn's third goal and made two others as the Norfolk side accounted for step four opposition for the second time in this season's competition.
Joint Linnets boss Gary Setchell said: "That was a first class performance and I think we totally dominated the game.
"Jack was a different class. He made two, scored one and was a constant thorn in Quorn's side."
Fellow joint boss Kevin Boon said: "We decided to put Jack out there and he has repaid us in a fantastic way. You can't ask for more than that from him.
"I know he was criticised last week, but that was Jack Defty today and that is why he is at King's Lynn Town Football Club."
Quorn manager Lawrie Dudfield felt Defty was the difference between the two sides.
Dudfield said: "We didn't start from the first whistle today and even though we went 2-1 we hadn't played well and only one team had turned up to play.

"Defensively we were very poor and we knew if we gave Jack Defty space that he would win the game for Lynn. He has a great touch for a big lad."
Defty set up Robbie Harris, who limped off the field a few minutes later, for Lynn's first before strikes from Sam Leggitt and Kris Nurse turned the tie in Quorn's favour.
Lynn's equaliser came out of nothing.
Defty was in no-mans land before beating three players with his persistance and laying the ball on a plate for home substitute Nelson Moriea to fire home.
The big number nine handed Lynn a half-time lead with a fine curling finish before Stephen Spriggs completed the scoring with a cracking fourth goal three minutes into the second half.
Moriera had an excellent game after replacing the injured Harris early, while Ross Wtason also drew special praise from Setchell after playing in an emergency midfield role.
"Ross was excellent out there today," said Setchell.
"He won almost every header in the middle and broke up play really well."
