NEW Linnets signing Kieran Davies is out to fill the void left by Stephen Spriggs.
And Lynn's latest arrival softened the blow of the wideman's recent departure by setting up two of the second half goals on Tuesday night.
Davies, who came on as a substitute 15 minutes into the second half, said: "Spriggsy's overall record for Lynn says it all, but if the gaffer didn't think I could do a job then he wouldn't have brought me in.
"I'm a very direct player who likes to get at people, which I think fans like to see.
"After spending so much time at St Neots on the bench I'm just glad to be playing again. I think I showed people what I can do on Tuesday with two assists.
"I'll just take things as they come. If the gaffer gives me a chance to start on Saturday then great but, if not, I will be patient and try to take my chance in the side when it comes."
Lynn inflicted Corby's heaviest defeat of the season by going nap for the second successive match and making it 17 goals from their last three games.
The Linnets opened the scoring a minute before the interval when Jordan Turner netted from the penalty spot after Ross Watson had been fouled in the box.
Lynn scored twice in as many minutes to put the result beyond doubt.
Jordan Yong struck with a screamer from some 30 yards and then Defty headed home Davies' cross from close range.
In the last minute of normal time Davies' centre was spilled by Lavin into the path of Turner to score his ninth goal from 11 games and two minutes into injury time Robbie Harris made it five, firing home from the edge of the box.
