LINNETS manager Tony Spearing was delighted to see his side end a run of two consecutive defeats.Spearing said: "We were a lot better than against Merthyr and should have won comfortably. We created 15 good chances.
"The players made better use of the ball and got into some very good positions. It was a lot better all round."
Lynn left out Wayne Anderson and Craig Clark and brought in Tommy Wright and Steve Welsh. Striker Lyndon Rowland had to settle for a place on the bench as Zeke Rowe made his first full start.
Spearing said: "I was disappointed with a few of the lads as they hadn't been doing what I wanted.
"To be fair, Lyndon was a little unlucky to be on the bench as his work rate this season has been second to none. I just felt we needed something fresh up front."
Lynn took the lead in the fifth minute when Lee Hudson rounded the keeper to score from a Rowe flick-on.
Danny Hockton equalised from the penalty spot after Dave Robinson was harshly adjudged to have handled a cross.
Lynn continued to dominate, with the fit-again Rowe causing the home defence all kinds of problems.
They had to wait until 14 minutes into the second half before regaining their lead through an Adie Hayes penalty after a handball in the area.
Chelmsford refused to lie down and Hockton equalised again from the third penalty of the night in the 72nd minute, after Simon Dakin had clearly fouled Kevin Dobinson.
City man-of-the-match was former Linnet Richard Skelly.
