THERE was a great start for the Linnets on their first-ever visit to Nethermoor Park, with a smash-and-grab goal after just three minutes.
A home attack was repelled with newcomer Jamie Oliver being found by Gareth Sheldon on the counter-attack.
Oliver's shot took a deflection, rebounding for the ever alert Sheldon to flash the ball into the net from 12 yards.
It was just what manager Carl Heggs was looking for after shuffling his pack to come up with a winning formula following a run of three successive UniBond League draws.
The first half was mainly of the 'up and under' variety with only occasional passages of play to excite the somewhat sparse crowd.
One such attack from Lynn saw Joe Magunda deliver a deep cross from which Robinson rose to head for goal, only to see Worsnop make a fine save.
Lloyd was cautioned for a foul on Guiseley's Bentham and the home side forced several corners which were well dealt with by the big Lynn defenders.
Danny Gay in goal made a flying save when Guisely produced a good move down the right with Craig Bentham firing in a piledriver.
Guiseley kept up the pressure in the second half before Sheldon won a penalty when tackled from behind and he duly netted for his sixth goal of the season from the spot.
Lynn went further ahead in the 68th minute after Sheldon made progress from midfield and played in Robinson who coolly drew the keeper before rolling the ball into an empty net.
Guiseley now threw everything into attack and were awarded a penalty themselves after Smedley was judged to have fouled Merris. From Lloyd's well-struck kick, Gay made a great save low to his left.
But the Linnets had a blow when marksman Sheldon was treated for a serious leg injury and was eventually stretchered off, to be replaced by Story.
Guiseley pulled a goal back when a long shot from Lloyd was deflected past Gay and minutes later the Yorkshiremen had the ball in the net again but the effort was ruled out for handball.
In the 88th minute Guiseley did pull another goal back with a fine shot from 25 yards by Liam Needham.
As play entered the lengthy period of stoppage time, Guiseley surged forward before the issue was put beyond doubt, when Owen Story broke away on the right, with Robinson up in support. Story drew the one defender, leaving Robinson to go on to beat goalkeeper Worsnop with some ease.
