IT was a case of the same old story for the goal-shy Linnets as big-spending Burton registered their first away win since September.The Brewers, who included record signing Christian Moore from Ilkeston Town in the line-up, also became the first side to complete a league double over Gary Mills' side.
And the defeat meant that Lynn have now not scored a home league goal since the 4-1 victory over Dorchester in November.
"It becomes a mental thing after a while," commented Mills. "We have got to keep battling away and I'm sure things will turn round and we will start getting the goals.
Mills said he was disappointed with the outcome, but couldn't fault his players effort.
"I can't ask any more of my players," he continued. "They showed the passion and commitment and worked very hard, but unfortunately we have not got the result.
"I was disappointed. We lost to a wonder strike. I don't think anybody would have stopped that, but we have got to get on with it and make sure we get the same passion and commitment on Saturday.
"Apart from Glen Fuff clearing off the line, they haven't really troubled us. I don't think Chuck had to do anything spectacular in the second half. We piled on the pressure, but didn't get that goal. It was the same old story."
Lynn had started brightly with Lyndon Rowland and Tony Spearing both seeing efforts go narrowly wide.
Aaron Webster hit the bar as Burton came back while Craig Clark was lucky to escape with only a yellow card after hauling down Moore who was set to race clear.
Darren Stride sent a screamer inches over the bar while Fuff had to be at his spectacular best when Martini raced out to half-save an effort from Moore, who had earlier missed a good chance from close range, with Fuff completing the clearance from the goal-line.
But the Brewers got their noses in front on 37 minutes when the Linnets only half-cleared their lines and the ball fell invitingly for Mark Blount who rifled home a superb volley into the top corner from the edge of the box.
Dave Puttnam saw an effort go inches wide while, after the break, Emeka Nwadike was thwarted by a good save from Nick Goodwin and, in the dying throes, Lyndon Rowland had a header go close.
But, despite Martini going up for a corner and a home supporter running onto the pitch to score, Lynn's lack of goals again proved their downfall.
