Daventry Utd 0 King's Lynn 5
4th April 2011
TOWN'S 50th competitive match of the season turned out to be something of a stroll in the sun against Daventry United.
Lynn dominated from the start at Communications Park with Chris Bacon, Jack Defty and Jamie Thurlbourne firing The Walks outfit 3-0 in front inside the opening 25 minutes.
After the interval a Robbie Harris shot was parried by the home keeper and Steve Spriggs was on hand to finish on the hour, before Harris completed the scoring on 81 minutes.
Joint boss Gary Setchell said: "Before the game I said to the players that they had eight cup finals between now and the end of the season and they responded fantastically,
"After the early goals the result was never in doubt and there were some good performances all over the pitch.
"Chris (Bacon) scored a great goal and if he gets his mindset right has the ability to be a great striker at this level, while Kieran (Doherty) played as though his life depended on it in the first half."
