King's Lynn 1 Long Buckby 0
12th April 2011

STRIKER Chris Bacon bundled home the only goal of the game in the opening minute of Tuesday night's encounter. Bacon converted a Jamie Thurlbourne pass at the far post in a game which lacked much goalmouth action.
In the second half, the Linnets came closest to scoring when Jack Defty, with only one goal in his last seven games, headed against the post.
Long Buckby created little in the way of clear- cut chances but still gave Lynn one or two anxious moments.
Joint Linnets boss Gary Setchell said: "At this stage of the season it doesn't matter if you win 1-0 or 9-0, it's all about getting the three points.
"It was the first time since our r Vase win at Norton that we've had to win ugly and I thought our two centre- halves were outstanding tonight.
"Long Buckby are a decent side and I've seen enough tonight to know that St Neots will have a hard game there on the final day of the season." King's Lynn Town:
Alex Street, Pat Bexfield, Jamie Alsop, Luke Thurlbourne, Martin McNeil, Ross Watson, Stephen Spriggs (Robbie Harris), Kieran Doherty (Dan Buhlemann), Jack Defty (Danny White), Chris Bacon, Jamie Thurlbourne.
Referee: J. Thorold. Attendance: 636. MoM: Ross Watson.
