Halesowen Town 1 King's Lynn 0
13th April 2013
King's Lynn Town lost their second game in three as the title pendulum swung slightly back in Coalville's favour at the weekend.
The Linnets weren't at their best against play-off hopefuls Halesowen who were good value for the three points at The Grove.
Only some fine saves from Lynn goalkeeper Danny Gay, some wasteful finishing for leading Halesowen scorer Ben Haseley and the offside flag denied the Yeltz an even bigger margin of victory.
The initial signs looked ominous as the title-chasing Linnets tore into the Yeltz from the opening whistle.
Dan Quigley fired over the bar in the first minute after the home defence struggled to clear the early onslaught.
Shortly after, home goalkeeper Paul Evans made a superb reflex save to deny Shane Tolley in front of the target affer a Dan Jacob cross from the left.
What turned out to be the winning goal after 21 minutes was was inspired by Haseley.
Haseley dragged the ball past Gulliver on the edge of the penalty area and slipped a neat reverse pass for Neil Barnfield free to beat Gay from six yards.
