Rushall Olympic 3 King's Lynn 1
14th December 2013
King's Lynn Town suffered back-to-back EvoStik League defeats for only the second time this season after their defensive frailties were cruelly exposed in the Midlands.
Goals from Stan Mugisha, Dele Adebola and Christian Dacres sealed an impressive performance from the Pics, with Massiah McDonald netting a consolation for the Linnets.
Ex-League star Adebola's header was brilliantly pushed away by Alex Street in the early stages before the deadlock was broken after 17 minutes when Mugisha raced onto Josh Craddock's through ball, rounded the keeper, and coolly slotted home.
The busy Andy Hall looked the best source of an equaliser, while, a minute before the interval, Lynn had a great chance to draw level when the ball dropped to the unmarked Ryan Fryatt in the box but he failed to make contact.
Lynn were made to pay for that miss when, a minute later, Adebola burst through their defence, held off a couple of challenges, before tucking the ball under the advancing Street.
Rushall made a storming start to the second period and Dacres forced home a third goal from a goalmouth scramble after Craddock had gone close just seconds earlier.
Two minutes later, the Linnets pulled a goal back when McDonald curled a fine effort over Gemmell into the far corner with the ball going into the net off the far post.
The hosts were in no mood to give this game away with Adebola (twice) and Zak Martin flicked going close to restoring their three-goal advantage.
Both sides made substitutions with Matt Wood coming on for Stan Mugisha and Sam Mulready for Rob Duffy, for the visitors.
Mulready brought a great save from Gemmell with virtually his first touch of the ball.
Craddock came close to adding a fourth but saw his shot land on the roof of the net, while Adebola headed wide.
