THERE was praise for the Linnets from Norwich City boss Ken Brown after Wednesday's game at The Walks."They have a good set of players and the standard of play is high," said the Division One manager.
"I am surprised that more people don't give the side their regular support.
"We have had a good match here tonight and we have enjoyed ourselves."
Brown had watched his side win by 2-0 with a 12th minute goal from John Fashanu and an 851h minute effort from substitute "Chick" Crowe.
Fashanu was obviously out to impress with a first team place beckoning now that Keith Bertschin is out injured, but he was usually well handled by the solid Lynn defence.
The first half kept the large crowd well entertained, but then the Norwich "big names" such as O'Neill, Deehan, McGuire and Mendham went off the second half had less to offer.
After Fashanu's close range opener, Lynn replied with a splendid move which ended with Elliott hitting a dipping 20 yard shot narrowly over Clive Woods' bar. Chapman was twice so close to getting the necessary touch in front of goal and Keeley had the best chance when he hooked wide from ten yards.
Lynn really should have been level at the interval and they kept the Norwich defence occupied in the second half, especially with Elliott spraying the ball around. Elliot was a foot wide with a well-struck free kick in the 62nd minute.
Norwich had often been caught in Lynn's offside trap, but they broke through late in the game for Crowe to slide in a low shot past Claxton.
