LINNETS manager Gary Setchell praised his side's grit and determination but revealed he wants his team to play better as they edged past Haverhill at The Walks.
Midfielder Danny White was Lynn's matchwinner for the second successive match as the UCL side stretched their 100 per cent record in all competitions.
Setchell said: "I thought we bossed the game in the first 45 minutes and our work ethic was great but in the second half we looked a totally different team.
"We look drained and tired and, apart from our back four, we didn't really have any zip on the pitch and didn't close the game out very well.
"At 1-0 we needed another goal but we kept opening the door for Haverhill by not keeping the ball well enough and almost let them back into it. "We've shown that we have got grit and ugliness to win games 1-0 and sometimes you have to do that in FA Cup football but as managers we want the team to be better.
"It's important that we kick- on in games and today I didn't feel we did that in the second half like we have in previous games."
Haverhill boss Peter Betts said: "King's Lynn dominated the first-half and were so good going forward at times we were delighted to go in only one goal down.
"I think in the first half we showed King's Lynn a little bit too much respect but after the break I think our performance perhaps warranted a replay."
The Linnets were good value for their half-time advantage through White's eighth- minute strike but in truth it should have been more.
Four minutes after the mid- fielder's opener, Paul Cousins headed over while Ryan Fryatt just failed to connect with a Stephen Spriggs free-kick. Spriggs was a constant menace to the Suffolk side and midway through the half the wideman saw his volley brilliantly saved by Alex Archer. Archer, on loan from League One outfit Peterborough, came to his side's rescue again a minute before the interval when the 17-year-old denied. White by pulling off a delightful save to his left.
The Linnets lacked the same authority after the break and their Ridgeons League visitors grew in confidence as the tie wore on.
In the 70th minute, Higgs saw his delicate free-kick strike the woodwork with Alex Street beaten as Haverhill threatened to snatch an equaliser.
A one-goal advantage always left the tie in the melting pot and 13 minutes from time Paul Abbott spurned Haverhill's best chance of the game when he failed to capitalise on a mistake by Jordan Yong and fired wide with the target at his mercy.
There was still time for Archer to foil Lynn with a superb double save to thwart ineffective substitute Craig Calver and Spriggs.
