LINNETS boss Gary Setchell had few complaints after seeing his side bow out at the quarter-final stage of the Norfolk Senior Cup.
A second half penalty from Matthew Ball, following a clumsy challenge by Jack Defty, saw a youthful Canaries overcome their experienced UCL hosts.
Both sides had further opportunities to score, but Alex Street and City shotstopper Remi Matthews were both in good form to prevent any further goals.
Setchell said: "We haven't lost anything in defeat tonight, we huffed and puffed and tried our best, but Norwich were just a little bit better than us.
"That was the hardest training session we have had all season and you cant knock the lads' commitment, they gave everything.
"I felt we needed to score first if we were to go on and win the game and we had two or three half chances.
"Jack's header was a good chance and had he scored that could have given us something to hold on to."
Setchell added: "Once we conceded the goal it was always going to be an uphill struggle for us.
"Norwich made it very difficult for us. They train every day, they are fit and it was like wannabe Premier League footballers against step five footballers.
"I think at times the way they kept the ball, their movement and the way they filled in for each other showed that.
"They were opening us up at the end, but that was because we were tired and pushing men forward, but overall I thought it was a good game of football.
"Norwich City did play football and you don't come up against many sides in the UCL like that."
On the penalty, which led to City's winner, Setchell said: "It was a soft penalty. Jack said he was nowhere near the lad and the ref said he gave it for the previous tackle, which I find hard to believe as he blew a good three or four seconds after that.
"Jack didn't need to make the challenge and it was a soft penalty, but had it been at the other end I would have been screaming my head off."
Norwich City should have been ahead at the interval after Reece Hall-Johnson missed a gilt-edged chance in front of the target.
Lynn made a better start to the second period, but Defty"s header went inches wide in perhaps their best chance of the contest.
Ball could have easily gone on to score a hat-trick for City after fluffing two chances late on, with the impressive Street denying one of his efforts.
