King's Lynn 1 Chasetown 0
18th August 2012
SUMMER signing Russell Dunkley was on target as the Linnets began life in the EvoStik League with a welcome three points.
Striker Dunkley was on target midway through the second half in front of 599 spectators - Lynn's lowest opening-day crowd for ten years.
On a sweltering afternoon, the Linnets put a nervous start behind them and grew in confidence as the game wore on.
The introduction of Steve Spriggs, ten minutes into the second period, gave Lynn a much-need injection of pace, while both Phil Gulliver and Jamie Forshaw had outstanding games for the hosts. Lynn: Street, Watson, Gulliver, Fryatt, Yong, Bunting, Quigley, Thurlbourne (Hughes, 73), Turner (Spriggs, 55), Forshaw (Beaumont, 68), Dunkley. Sub not used: Buhlemann.
Goal: Dunkley (66).
Chasetown: Price, Farmer (Johnson, 14), Teesdale, Slater, Branch, Westwood, Bate, Downes (Saunders, 61), Brown (Sullivan, 74), Wellecomme, Hay. Subs not used: Sullivan, Evans
