Corby Town 0 King's Lynn 2
19th April 1977
The Linnets forward Trevor Moden showed good form at Corby on Tuesday as two Southern League points were picked up.
In the 33rd minute he chased through a pass from Freddie Easthall and after getting past one defender he was tripped by Gill before he could get in a shot. A penalty was given and Malcolm Lindsay put the Linnets ahead.
In the 62nd minute Moden was again bustling through, this time reaching Johnston's probing through pass. Moden forced his way past Murphy and then cracked in a low shot for the decisive goal.
Lynn playing a 4-4-2 line-up, always looked to have the edge and the defence was always on top of a punchless Corby attack. Towards the end of the game Moden and Easthall swept in shots which were only inches too high and the Moden forced Walters into a last minute save.
