King's Lynn 2 Sutton Coldfield Town 0
20th April 2013
A second-half brace from Dan Jacob saw King's Lynn Town assume control of the EvoStik League Division One South title race.
Jacob bagged two goals in the opening 11 minutes of the second period as title rivals Coalville Town's recent bad run continued with a 2-1 away defeat at Newcastle Town.
The Linnets now lead the Ravens, who had two players sent-off in Staffordshire, by two points going into the final three games of the season.
King's Lynn Town made three changes to the side which drew at league leaders Coalville Town on Tuesday night.
Russell Dunkley, George Thomson and Ryan Fryatt were all benched and in came the trio of James Jepson, Daniel Beaumont and Shane Tolley.
The Walks outfit dominated the first period but were unable to make their pressure count.
Both Dan Quigley and Beaumont had efforts turned over the woodwork by Royals goalkeeper Lee Evans in the opening half-an-hour.
And it was no laughing matter when Evans pulled off an acrobatic double stop to deny Dan Jacob on the stroke of half-time.
The deadlock was broken ten minutes after the restart when Jacob pounced on a Quigley header to smash the ball into the net.
Elven minutes later the same player made it 2-0 after excellent work from Beaumont on the left.
