King's Lynn 6 Rushall 0
20th August 2013
Striker Dan Jacob struck a brilliant hat-trick as the Linnets started home life back at Step Three with a bang.
This was Lynn's biggest Northern Premier Division win, surpassing the 5-0 win over Netherfield back in the 1982/83 season.
The opening 20 minutes belonged to The Pics as Lynn were slow to find any rhythm.
Chances fell to Dave Walker who fired over and then a Kyle Haynes cross, which just evaded the on-rushing Josh Craddock at the back post.
Lynn took the lead on 21 minutes when Jacob turned and shot past Lewis Solly in the Rushall goal following a pass from George Thomson.
Danny Gay saved at the feet of Walker before Jacob charged down an attempted clearance by Solly and rolled the ball into an empty net to make it 2-0.
Lynn's third goal in the space of nine minutes came courtesy of a 30-yard cracker from Thomson.
Any hopes of getting back into the game ended for Rushall a minute into the second half when Lee Downes mistimed a tackle and got his second yellow card of the match.
Eight minutes after the restart, Jacob completed his hat-trick after converting Jordan Yong's cross from the left and Lynn made it five when Andrew Hall slid home after a sublime crossfield pass by substitute Steve Spriggs.
Obeng had a shot cleared off the line by Jason Lee to deny the visitors a consolation and then substitute Ewan Clarke made it six with an injury time.
