LINNETS manager Tony Spearing was highly satisfied with his side's first pre-season run out despite defeat to archrivals Boston.
All of Lynn's summer signings showed up well in an impressive first half, before wholesale changes saw the visitors hold the upper hand in the second period.
Spearing said: "Considering Boston had been full-time for a month and we'd only had five sessions we did very well.
"1 wanted to put out a side capable of giving them a game so I basically started with the more senior players.
"1'd made my mind up a week ago what the second half changes were going to be and what you saw was a fitness exercise. The game and the scoreline was irrelevant"
All eyes were on keeper Steve Wilson and Lynn's new addition between the posts didn't disappoint as he held on to more crosses in one game than Chuck Martini managed all of last season. On Wilson's display, Spearing said: "I was delighted with him, he kicked well and his handling was very good throughout."
Striker Lee Hudson showed the Walks faithful that he had lost little of his pace and his first-half partnership with Kristian Jones proved very effective.
The dynamic duo came closest to scoring. Jones' strength took him past two defenders only to rattle the post, before Hudson picked up the rebound' and forced Paul Bastock into a fine reflex save.
Midfielder Jason Minett's vision against his former club gained him many new friends, while of the old boys Dave Robinson was magnificent at the back.
Boston opened the scoring through Simon Weatherstone in the 32nd minute when he chipped Wilson's punch over a crowd of players and into the net.
The visitors added a second In the 83rd minute when the unlucky Minett, under pressure from Anthony Elding, slid the ball past substitute keeper Simon Nobes.
