King's Lynn 1 Wroxham 1
21st July 2012
THE Linnets were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow step four side Wroxham in their latest pre-season friendly at The Walks on Saturday.
An early goal from Danny Beaumont was cancelled out by Wroxham's Gavin Lemmon midway through the half.
Lynn started the game at a very fast pace and had a number of chances in the early stages.
The deadlock was broken on 13 minutes when a Ryan Fryatt's ball in the box was knocked over the line by Beaumont for his second goal in as many games.
Lynn continued to control the game, but midway through the first half goalkeeper Alex Street could only watch and admire Gavin Lemmon's free-kick as it flew past him for Wroxham's eqialiser.
For the remainder of the first half the Linnets had more of the possession but were unable to break the visiting team down.
Jamie Thurlbourne came the closest to putting the home side ahead when his free kick was tipped over the bar by Andy Plummer.
The second half was a close affair and goalmouth action was at a premium with both defences and midfields on top.
In the dying minutes, Thurlbourne had another good chance from a free-kick, but his effort drifted agonisingly wide of Plummer's left-hand post.
