The Linnets continued their Southern League promotion
push without having to break sweat against Banbury at
The Walks on Saturday.Two goals in one first-half minute was scant reward for Lynn's domination in the first period, but it was good enough to see off the Puritans, who had no answer to Lynn's fluent football.
Linnets boss Keith Webb said: "Our football in the first half was some of the best since I arrived here.
"We could and should have had a lot more goals to show for our domination.
"Our passing and movement on and off the ball was superb."
Jack Defty tested veteran Banbury keeper Alan Judge first before Greg Crane forced an acrobatic save with a bullet header from Luke Fell's corner.
The trio of Michael Frew, Dean West and Steve Melton went close before Lynn went ahead with 31 minutes on the clock.
Defty's knock down found Sam McMahon who hammered home emphatically just inside the box.
Less than 60 seconds later, Frew played in Fell, who slid the ball under Judge for Lynn's 50th league strike of the campaign.
Melton went close with an overhead kick, while at the other end Paul Crichton was called upon to deny both Jon Gardner and Andy Baird.
The second half was a non-event compared to the first 45 minutes, but it was Banbury who came closest to scoring, but Crichton foiled Baird, Gardner and George Redknapp with his razor-sharp reactions.
