Cambridge City 1 King's Lynn 0
24th July 2012

A LATE goal saw the Linnets sunk at higher-league Cambridge City in their latest pre-season friendly last night.
The Walks outfit more than held their own against their step three hosts on a warm night at the Pro-Edge Stadium before former Cambridge United player Jordan Patrick broke the deadlock six minutes from time.
Lynn enjoyed lots of possession in the first 45 minutes and created the better chances with Ross Watson seeing his effort well-saved by Danny Naisbitt, while Danny Beaumont also went close.
At the other end, Dave Theobald saw his looping header scrape the woodwork for City.
The game followed a similar pattern in the second period but, having run themselves into the ground, Lynn began to tire as the second period wore on.
In the 84th minute, Patrick found himself in space on the edge of the area, and drilled a fine shot across Alex Street, who was only called upon to make two saves all night, to fire City in front.
The Linnets tried to respond, and came close to levelling matter in injury time when Beaumont's shot just whistled wide of the target.

Lynn: Street, Watson, Yong, Gulliver, Fryatt, Beaumont, Spriggs, Bunting, Forshaw, Turner, Thurlbourne. Subs (all used): Ward, Livoti, Biles, Jonas and McLeish.
