LYNN took their unbeaten run into double figures after a hard-fought win at local rivals City on Monday night.The impressive Kristian Jones nodded Lynn into a 10th minute lead, following an in-swinging Tommy Wright corner on the left.
Cambridge levelled from the penalty spot six minutes into the second period, before defender Glen Fuff saw his effort crash against the home woodwork.
Nine minutes from the end, Ross McNeil's shot was
turned into the net by Jon Palmer to send Lynn up to sixth on the night, but seventh now. The only disappointment for the Linnets, in a highly charged contest, were the bookings of Craig Clark, Simon Dakin and Wright.
Cambridge had two players go into the book, and also had uncompromising defender Steve Holden sent-off for a deliberate elbow on Wright in the 79th minute.
"It was another good performance in what was a very hard game," said Spearing, who has offered trialist Jones a contract until the end of the season.
"Kristian has done well. He's come in against all the odds and has shown he can do a bit in the last two games.
