King's Lynn 2 Gloucester City 0
28th August 2004
Lynn moved to the top of the Southern League Division One (North) with this Bank Holiday win over Gloucester.
There was never any doubt about the result after Lynn's well-worked second minute opening goal.
A searching pass from Wright exposed the limitations of Gloucester's attempted offside trap and gave Lindsay a free run. His low shot swept under Miles and Mick Bloxham was on the spot to score.
It was a pleasing change to see the sides playing 4-2-4 and there was a lot of good football - mostly from Lynn - before Wright hooked in Lynn's second from Brooks' neat free-kick in the 43rd minute.
Another good free-kick move by Lynn ended with Kerr shooting against the bar. This 67th minute attempt came soon after Lindsay had sliced wide from close in.
Gloucester looked to have got back into the game when substitute Foxwell netted in the 76th minute but he was ruled offside.
