The Linnets search for an away win was extended to eleven games with a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Boreham Wood who easily completed the league double. Kabongo Tshimanga, the scorer of two goals when the sides met at The Walks, was the main destroyer with a second half hat trick which took his season's total to twenty.
Going into the match this had all the indications of a goalless draw with both teams having trouble finding the back of the net in recent games and Wood being the league's draw specialists.
Few would have anticipated both sides scoring in the opening six minutes.
Lynn welcomed back Elkan Baggott replacing the apparently departed Ethan Coleman in an otherwise unchanged line-up.
The started brightly and the first chance fell to Michael Clunan in the second minute but his shot was straight at home keeper Nathan Ashmore. Michael Gash ended Lynn's 302 minutes without a goal with a piece of individual skill culminating in a shot which appeared to take a deflection before finding the far corner of the net.
Wood had not scored for some 360 minutes but ended their drought two minutes later when Gus Mafuta struck from some 25 yards, giving Theo Richardson no chance.
Alex Kiwomya tried a tried a volley from distance which went well wide and then Michael Gyasi broke through but Ashmore did well to come out and save at his feet on the edge of the area.
Soon after the restart Tyrone Marsh shot from distance smacked against the crossbar and it set the theme for the second half which saw Lynn struggle to create chances.
The home side took the lead soon after with Femi Ilesanmi making inroads down the Lynn right before seeing his shot strike Kyle Callan-McFadden and the rebound falling to Tshimanga to score.
Tshimanga added the Wood's third on 57 minutes and Kane Smith added the fourth ten minutes later with the Lynn defence having a bad day.
The scoring was completed on 74 minutes when Tshimanga had little problem dispossessing Callan-McFadden to score.
The score might have been greater but Smith was denied by the woodwork for second time.
