The Linnets are back at the top of the table in a strange game that saw three mistakes lead to goals in the opening eighteen minutes and then the match peter out into a mid-field battle.
Lynn manager Tommy Widdrington made three changes from the starting line-up at Blyth Spartans with Olly Scott and Michael Clunan retuning and Aaron Cosgrave making his debut.
Tom Hughes, Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kyle Callan-McFadden had to be content with a place on the bench.
It was a perfect start for Lynn, taking the lead in the second minute when a defensive mix-up saw Nathan Fox header beat outrushing keeper Peter Crook leaving Aaron Jones to take advantage and score.
Two minutes later the lead was doubled. Josh Barrett's cross was palmed by Crook into the path of Cosgrave to stab home.
The visitors got back into the game in the 18th minute when Josh Barrett gave the ball away and a Nathan Fox cross was turned into his own net by Tyler Denton under pressure from Dion Sembie-Ferris.
Barrett made amends for his error with a free kick that rebounded off the defensive wall back to him to give another chance but Crook pulled off a stunning fingertip save.
The visitors came more into the game but chances were few.

The second half was a stop-start affair with little goal mouth action despite Sports trying to apply pressure.
Ex-Linnet Michael Gash was introduced for the visitors and he had one of the few half chances that fell to Sports but Lynn held on.
