For the second successive season King's Lynn Town's interest in the FA Trophy ended in a penalty shoot-out against a team from a lower league.
With both times failing to average a goal-a-game in their respective leagues this was never going to a high scoring encounter.
Lynn made changes to the starting line-up that lost to Notts County with Brett McGavin and Malachi Linton coming in at the expense of Theo Widdrington and Dan Bowry.
Cup tied Ken Charles was absent from the bench which welcomed back Tyler Denton and Kyle Callan-McFadden after injury.
Lynn had the better of the first half in terms of possession although chances were mostly off target - Josh Barrett being the main driver behind Lynn's efforts.
It was Barrett who had the first effort which went just wide followed by McGavin whose long range effort was straight at Jonathan Henly in the home goal.
Gold Omotayo just failed to get his head to a cross on 13 minutes with the home side responding on 21 minutes with leading scorer Joe Turner shooting straight at Paul Jones.
The best chance of the first half fell to Malachi Linton around the 35 minutes mark but his effort was sliced wide.
Just before the break Ethan Coleman was fouled but his claims for a penalty only resulted in him being booked.
The home side came more into the game as the first half drew to a close and this continued after the restart with Turner hitting the Lynn post following a scramble.
Perhaps it was inevitable that the deadlock should be broken by a set-piece and it came from Barrett with a curling free kick from 20 yards on 75 minutes.
It was a lead that Lynn failed to hold and on 83 minutes substitute Aaron Smith-Joseph got in a cross which was headed home by Tommy Wood.
