Perhaps Lynn were unlucky to be drawn against a fellow step two side so early in the FA Cup but the National South side were deserved winners in this replay.

Lynn manager Mark Hughes made three changes to the starting line-up that drew at The Walks on Saturday with Ben Isaacson, Jordan Ponticelli, Ismael Fatadjo coming in with Josh Barrett and Bartosz Cybulski dropping to the bench and Kyle McFadden out - presumably injured.

Lynn keeper Paul Jones was once again the busier of the two keepers, being called upon on six minutes to turn away a Tom Benton long range effort at the expense of a corner.

Lynn's first effort of note came on 18 minutes but Josh Coulson's header saw straight at keeper Jonathon North.

The Millers took the lead four minutes later, Jon Benton hitting hard and low into the bottom left hand corner from outside the box and he nearly added another two minutes later but his shot crept wide.

Lynn almost equalised on 39 minutes but, having rounded the keeper, Ponticelli's effort was somehow cleared off the line by Tom Stephen.

Matt Rush made it 2-0 when he out jumped the Lynn defence on 62 minutes having had an almost identical goal ruled out a minute earlier.

Benton then put in a perfect free kick from 25 yards on 79 minutes to make it 3-0 and he turned provider for Rush's second from just inside the box five minutes later.

It is the first time that Lynn have failed to make it beyond the second qualifying round since the 2-1 defeat against Nuneaton Town in the 2017-18 season.

Lynn have a much changed team since last season but Hughes' record of one win in 11 attempts suggests that unless something changes it is going to be a long winter.
