Darlington disappointed in this top of the table clash - or perhaps it was just that King's Lynn Town were too good.
The Quakers were unbeaten in their last eight league outings but their resistance was futile as they were brushed aside by the Linnets and, in particular, the goal-scoring skills of Josh Barrett.
The Lynn line-up showed three changes with Josh Coulson, Ollie Scott and Cameron Hargreaves coming in for Kyle Callan-McFadden, Gold Omotayo and Ben Stephens.
In such an vital game, an early goal was important and it took Lynn just five minutes to score. Barrett received the ball from Jordan Ponticelli and curled the ball into the far top corner of the net.
It took nearly 30 minutes for the visitor's to have their first shot of note, Paul Jones tipping over Adriano Moke's shot from the edge of the box.
Ponticelli was denied by visiting keeper Tommy Taylor but soone after Lynn doubled their lead - Michael Clunan winning the ball and feeding Barrett who squared for Ponticelli to score.

Quakers' manager Alan Armstrong looked to substitutions and a change of formation but six minutes into the second half Clunan played in Barrett who lifted the ball over Taylor to complete the scoring.
Lynn might have made it four just after the hour when Clunan went just over from long range and again late on from Omotayo while Paul Jones did well to deny substitute Jack Lambert a consolation.
