Lynn claimed their first away win in four months in a match which, it could be claimed, was decided by substitutions. On 68 minutes Lynn introduced Gold Omotayo and five minutes later former Lynn manager Ian Culverhouse withdrew the experienced Zak Mills and Jordan Burrow, both players still recovering from injury. Two minutes after that Lynn scored.

Prior to that there wasn't a great deal between the teams - both having opportunities to break the deadlock.
Lynn made changes to the starting line-up whose last outing was at Farsley Celtic. Omotayo, Adam Crowther and Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain had to settle for a place on the bench while Cameron Hargreaves was ruled out through injury. In came Kyle Callan-McFadden, Ken Charles, Theo Widdrington and Ben Stephens.
An early chance fell to Ken Charles but he failed to get a good connection on Ben Stephen's cross while at the other end Pilgrim's leading scorer Scott Pollock forced an error from Josh Coulson but could put his shot wide.

An error from Mills allowed Josh Barrett to set up Charles but Mills made a good recovery to deny the opportunity.
A Barrett free kick on 13 minutes hit the bar but as the half progressed although there were chances neither keeper was seriously troubled.

Home keeper Sam Long was called into action ten minutes after the restart, tipping over a chipped shot from Barrett.

Paul Jones was called into action to deny Jordan Crawford and then saw Sam McLintock hit the woodwork and the ball fall to Crawford which required another good save to keep the scores level.
Then came the substitutions and on 75 minutes Lynn took the lead when Omotayo volleyed home Barrett's cross.

Boston applied pressure only to be caught on the break for Olly Scott to score his first goal for the club.
