Fair play, I really like this statement from Paul Caddis. It's honest, accountable and actually sounds like someone who understands what football clubs mean to their supporters and communities.
I think the benefit of the doubt absolutely has to be given to the new man in charge. If you look at what he achieved in two years at Hereford, while their own chairman publicly admitted they were operating on a bottom-end budget, his record there is actually quite remarkable considering what he was up against. To note yes he did leave Hereford in a relegation spot but given the pitch issues they had (excuse the pun) if they had won 5 of their 7 games in hand they would have been only 3 points from 7th place remarkably.
More importantly, he comes across as someone with strong values and standards. I've also seen the viral interview he gave after the abandoned FA Cup tie involving racist remarks from his own supporters, and the way he handled himself spoke volumes about his character and leadership.
I like the cut of this guy's cloth.
What also stands out from this statement is the accountability. He's openly saying recruitment decisions sit with him, which suggests he wasn't willing to take the manager's role unless he had genuine control over football matters and the direction of the team.

Let's give the guy a chance. Get behind him, the players and the club, and see where this new chapter can take us. He's clearly taken on a more public role than any other manager has previously under this ownership so yeah let's see what the next few months of squad building brings.
