The big announcement
« on: September 25, 2021, 09:52:37 AM »
Apparently the Chairman is making a big announcement in today's program.

Are we going to hear news of  the previously mentioned TV documentary?   :dontknow:

Maybe an investment opportunity for season ticket holders courtesy of European Land Sales and Forrester & Lamego Ltd.

The appointment of a Commercial Manager (or whatever they want to call him).

I don't know if Club have employed him or if he's just a Consultant. Either way, good to have someone with experience in this field on board.

Has to be on a Consultancy basis as someone with this guys track record would be costing serious money.

Still looking to appoint a Commercial Manager to pick up the mantle and use the groundwork that Mark Hearle covered.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

So you don't think he'll be available at the ground during the week if local business's wanted to talk to him directly?   :dontknow:

What’s the going rate for full time, experienced Commercial Director?  Not sure where this new guy is based.  I suspect not local.  So will be working remotely.  Hence why they need a commercial person in the local area.  However SC said no point in bringing someone in on 40k if only they will generate is 30k.

Surprised Mark Hearle quit the Club with that kind of remuneration.

Already a tad late IMO.....there should have been a person and plan in place by the start of the season....then we may have had better sponsorship, the money to go out and get a recognised striker, good connection with the fans and hopefully a full ground with a good atmosphere.

At the moment everything is a bit make it up as you go along. Problem is current level of sponsorship is insufficient, admission prices have been set too high, fans have left and not all will come back, there is an obvious lack of connection with the fan base, so the Walks is no longer an intimidating place to come and the team although greatly improved on the defensive side, are now in the bottom 3 without a recognised goalscorer.....bit of a pickle and not easy to turn round rapidly mid season........does need to be a rapid change to keep Lynn in the NL.

As much as I’d like to KES, I’m struggling to disagree with any of that.

SC seems to have had  plenty to say on Derby Co in Saturday’s EDP.  He needs to start looking closer to home and deal with what is steering him
Straight in the face rather than worrying about clubs so far up the pyramid.

Kings Lynn in its present state will rise of fall by his actions, alone

I follow the Linnets from afar these days, although I try to keep up-to-date with what is happening via the forum and the local press. There has been nothing to actually indicate what Mr Cleeve’s so-called big announcement is.
Please, can anyone enlighten me on the matter?  The club appears to lag behind with keeping fans informed about many things. As a former journalist, I also think the local press should be more informative with what is going on behind the scenes at The Walks. It gives the impression that relationships between club and media is a bit too cosy.

Can't disagree with any of that Colin.

I believe the big announcement is that a Commercial Director has finally been appointed.

Others on here will have more detail to add I am sure.
