The Day Has Arrived
« on: August 10, 2024, 07:45:55 AM »
:farmer: :oldman" Well we are finally ready to set of on our journey for another season. I would be interested to gauge people’s feelings on what they feel we have to look forward to. I personally feel we have obviously got a lot better squad than at this time last season, with better strength in all areas, let’s face it recruitment last year was abysmal, to say the least. I feel we have definitely got a better manager than we’ve had for a while who also has a very able deputy and both have a far deeper understanding of this league and what’s required to win matches in it than the previous incumbent’s. I have a positive view on the season ahead, but only time will tell. COYL.
Over to you all now for your thoughts. :oldman" :farmer:

I totally agree with those sentiments but I also think AL has brought a new level of professionalism to the Club as a whole.

Perhaps he has given Mr Cleeve the confidence to adopt a slightly less hands on approach and to let others  do their jobs as appointed.

That seems to be the case with the media team who have made a huge difference to this pre-seasonwith their output.

Hopefully it will continue and supporters will slowly but surely feel less like the 'customers' we have been over the pst seasons.

:farmer: :oldman" totally agree with you on that also Kenny.  Let’s hope the commercial side of the business has also had an uplift as this is badly needed. I noticed looking at the training pictures of the players, that there does seem to be some new advertising hoardings around the perimeter of the pitch and ground, these are badly needed as we were definitely lacking in that department and this is a good opportunity to use the space to provide an income stream for the club. :oldman" :farmer:

Real buzz for the start of the season.  Let’s just remember it’s a marathon not a sprint.  Controlled expectations is the order of the day.    Today will give us a true understanding of how well AL has recruited and put his squad together.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?
