Inexpensive admission as well.   Saturday was myself, son and grandson cost for admission £52.  If the 3 of us go to Curzon Saturday the admission will be £33.  That's a staggering 58% more expensive to watch Lynn at home than away.

How does Cleeve truly justify that ?

He can't, although I'm sure he would try.

Maybe it's down to having an overseas investor.

Not great for paying fans, but I guess he might say:

Cost of a full time squad
Cost of training facilities at Ely.
Cost of best manager in league and his assistant including traveling down from Manchester regularly
Cost of being based in Norfolk in a Northern League with travel and overnight stay costs

Whether all the above costs are necessary, is I guess, a different argument

It's the chairman's choice on what MO he runs his club on.  Seems though he expects the fans and now Joe to continue to fund his hobby.

On a  Personal level we had decided to go to every home game we could.  We have since had a re-think and will at most now do every other home game.

Yes I can well understand that Mall. The M O at the moment seems to be if you have a successful team then that gets a reasonable crowd paying high admission fees. However, this only works if the club continues to be evermore successful IMO......if it doesn't achieve that then another and another investor are required to prop it up.

The alternative is something that is priced in a way that builds the crowd base and is not totally dependent on on field performance , so that for example it encourages families including grandchildren to come every week.

If the club are serious about "building" they surely need to find a middle ground.

Chairman's Club Chairman's choice. I seem to recall SC tried a cheap admission deal but it turned out the extra people who attended didn't make up for the drop in admission cost. So the revenue for the game was less.

Think the interesting time will come on the lead up to Christmas then the gates in January.  That's a good litmus test of people's spare cash. 

I wonder if the new Commercial  Director can pull in enough extra revenue to allow SC to charge a 'reasonable' admission fee or will he see that as it will be less him and Joe have to put in.  Then again if SC isn't their to fund the Club what is he actually bringing to the party ?   Let's hope this Commercial person does what all those who came before him failed to do.

Yep this is where it gets circular.....the only way to service it is for someone else with big money to take over and so it goes on........... unless of course it all starts again lower down the pyramid.

Football Chairmen tend to want to lose their own money when they buy Clubs, not take on the debts from the previous one.
