Very good to see ( and hear ) the football club trialling this for the first time at Leamington on Saturday. It will be interesting to see the feedback on this and how the club develop the platform over the season. Well done to all concerned.

If the new Football Club radio broadcast means the end of Radio Norfolk at Lynn games then I’ll miss Nick Bowlers commentary.  A very knowledgeable man on all things involving local football.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Especially Lowestoft!  😅

I don't think it would mean that to be honest. There has always been a very good working relationship between the football club and Radio Norfolk and I'd expect that to continue. One complimenting the other would be the ideal situation IMO.

If the Chairman had his own broadcasting option available, he may not wish to co-operate with the BBC on this one.

On the other hand, if Bal is given overall control of such activities (I believe he officially starts tomorrow) then that could be a different matter.

 :dontknow:

It's been quieter than usual recently (well at least on Social Media, with no change otherwise), but I expect that to change dramatically very soon.

Would seem pointless to have two Radio commentary’s of the same game surely ?  On top of that Local radio stations seem to be squeezing up their programming to be more wide spread and not so localised.   So would be no surprise to see Radio Norfolk cut live broadcasts outside of Carra Rood.

Let’s hope the new guy Bal hits the ground running and proves more successful that his predecessors.  Least he comes from the right background.  So maybe has half a chance.

You haven't noticed some subtle changes already?   :dontknow:

As one example, the next home game was advertised outside the ground the week before last!  :comeon:

I’ve noticed the amount of emails  offering discounted admission prices.   Let’s see how all the marketing ideas equate to extra income.

With all these discounts being offered ( £10 admission being the latest) does this mean SC can now see he got it badly wrong with th pricing structure before the start of the season ?

Whilst discounts on matches are great and will hopefully attract more through the gate, I'm increasingly wondering why I bothered buying a season ticket.

And please don't give me the "supporting the club" bit.

I bought my season ticket for early bird price for a reason. Money is tight. Now it seems that I should have just waited for the lowest price and bought seats one match at a time.

Has there been an official announcement about the new commercial manager / director?

Radio Norfolk don't have the capacity to be at The Walks regularly enough and there is a need for a radio commentary every match. I can see this developing very nicely, with some good incites and info coming in.
As Mark says, there's no reason for it conflict with Radio Norfolk. They make a choice to cover every Norwich game, even though away games are also covered by the respective BBC station, effectively meaning that the BBC are doubling up each time. After that, they then make the decision to visit a large number of local teams, including one outside of Norfolk with Norwich links. However, that doesn't really service the 2nd best team in Norfolk and it's fans sufficiently........so onwards and upwards. Most teams at Lynn's level have their own dedicated radio commentary, probably for similar reasons.

I can see that some season ticket holders may feel that way, but "supporting the club" is actually a reason many still buy them.

I think there was always going to be a good chance of discounted ticketing being used, due to so many people deciding not to attend games due to the high pricing. I don't think this has come as a surprise to many.

The question will be, is the discounting of tickets as a sole initiative, enough to attract people back to the Walks when the team is on such a poor run of late? Time will tell on that one.

To buy a season ticket or not is a decision down to the individual and probably their circumstances at the time.

As they say, "you pays your money and you takes your choice".

Be interesting to know what the audience is with Radio Norfolk’s Live coverage of a Bulk standard Lynn game.

I get it could well be a commercial benefit to the Club in airing its own show.  Let’s hope the commentary is of a decent quality and not just someone who can hold a microphone.

Maybe Mark has some inside knowledge on how the new initiative will play out.
