A 80 minute goal for the Linnets is not enough to stop them going down 2-1 away to Leamington., after the hosts went 2 up after 8 minutes.

First they fascinate the fools, then they attempt to gag the intelligent.

Sounded like we didn’t turn up for the fist half so looks like it’s back to the drawing board

Sounds like we desperately need Gold back.

I am of the opinion that we are better off out of the Trophy. Our squad size and current injuries means we can hardly cope with the league fixtures.

If we did have any intention to have a long run in the competition, however, then that was a pretty pitiful start for a full time team, who knew exactly the sort of game plan Leamington would be offering. We do really seem to struggle with the likes of Alfreton, Sports, Leamington etc.

Nice to see Hmami scored again and well done the media team on the trial of the online radio...a really good initiative which can only get stronger with experience   :scarf:

Early doors we were a side who were difficult to beat with a solid defence who gave sod all away.  It was the other end of the pitch we seemed to struggle after Margetts was out.  Now we seem more of a soft touch at the back with errors being more the order of the day.

Before next Saturday we could find ourselves down as low as 10th and really in no man’s land.  Next two home games are massive to get things back in the hunt.

Let’s not forget Adam Lakeland doesn’t travel 4 ( 8?)!hours every day not to be competing at the business end of the League.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

2 goals given away in 8 minutes...I would suggest the manager might want to start having a little look at himself for a change....also 2 home games coming up I would suggest to Mr Cleeve that he should forget the £2 off and make it £10 across both games

2nd game on the trot where we apparently hardly came out of our half for the first half.  Defensive line-ups or teams regularly give goals away because the opponents spending most or all of the game in our half are going to get regular chances.  Until we have an attacking midfield to go with the forwards we’re not going to get anywhere.  My opinion anyway….. Mid table at best, and it could be worse, and dodgy…

I thought we had more midfielders than any other position........ attacking midfielders:Hughes, Crane, Bartley, Hmami, McCammon........I agree with your sentiment Dilly, we do need to look to be more positive, but I.just don't think we can cope presently with lump ball tactics including long throws......none of the centre backs are huge, some are past their prime and Jonah despite being a great keeper for this level is of the Norwich School who tend not to come screeching from their line to the edge of the boxto claimthings. When he's fit are we employing Gold as an extra defender at set plays as we did in the past....he can be really important at both ends of the pitch. With the likes of Leamington, Alfreton, Sports lump ball means the midfield are often by passed
