A grim trip up north for Linnets as they lose 3-0 away to Scunthorpe, in the last game of the year.

All the goals were scored n the first half.

Att: 4165.

Lynn drop to 4th place.

Scunthorpe move to the top of the league.

Happy new year to all Lynn Supporters.

That's a very poor result.Scunthorpe haven't been that good at putting the ball in the net recently so to concede 3 against them in first half is very disappointing.Adam can't blame the supporters this week so it could be the turn of the pitch which looked more like Hunstanton beach

Well it surely can't be the fault of the players and manager?

We drew the 2nd half 0-0

We have gone from having a water tight defence to now shipping 5 goals in two games.

Maybe as a team we have been punching.   The games we have in January will say a lot of what we are all about.

What’s the news on Margetts as in a minor injury or going to be missing for a while?  When can we expect Jones back.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I didn’t expect too much from today’s game, it was always going to be a tough ask to come away with anything. Bit surprised at the starting line up though, with Margetts missing and not having a recognised forward starting. Great setup at Scunthorpe and fantastic support, good luck to them for the rest if the season. Good travelling support from us too.
Hopefully we can pick ourselves up and consolidate a play off spot. Feel we do need a new striker, but not Ken Charles as has been suggested. Like Omotayo, not prolific goal scorers. Would be better getting Marriott in on loan, can’t see that happening though.
Have a feeling Margetts will be out for a bit, so we need to get a replacement in sooner rather than later.

Happy New Year to you all.

Prior to today, Scunthorpe had only managed 6 goals in their last 6 games. That's only one more than Lynn managed over the same amount of games. In fact, they hadn't won any of their last 6 home games.

I think it's reasonable if people expected something out of today's game, even if it was only a share of the points. No doubt AL was expecting a very tough game, but money on it that he never thought he would be 3 down at HT. I'm sure he was expecting to come away with something today.

Scunthorpe must have been ecstatic. Only 6 goals in 6 games and and no win in their previous 6 home games, and then they see three goals going in after 49 minutes.........I bet they didn't expect to see that!

As Mallard has said, the January games will say a lot about where we are as a team.

Despite the misgivings of those who aren’t realists the players bought in have strengthened the side and as such the club are in a much better place than last season. Rome was not built in a day and the new manager has turned a relic team into one that is doing quite well. I can’t remember promises of promotion being made!
I would expect to see more progress during the season and close season to beef the team up for a big push next year.

Comparing last years team to this season just shows how poor the appointment of Hughes was which in turn led to recruitment which was below this level and some.

As for promotion promise…. When you have the best Manager in this league with a decent budget then we should be up there competing.  Which is where we are.  We have a fantastic opportunity in January to amount a real push to cement a top 4 position.  Once in the  offs then anything could happen.

Now is the time for AL to deliver and really earn his corn. Saturday at Warrington is a great starting point. They were beaten 2-0 on NYD by Marine.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?
