Margets back in training and could be in squad for Tuesday.

Another player could be coming in. Forward, midfielder, defender is anyone's guess.

A little knowledge may be dangerous, but knowing nothing while thinking you know it all is far worse.

The big problem this season has been our goal threat. Margetts and Gold have hardly played together or been fit so far this season and this has certainly impacted our goal of winning the league. Having said that, I think AL's cautious style of football against certain teams this season also hasn't helped us. We've got a squad that is certainly capable of playing any team in this league off the park, yet all we seem to do is try and lump it to someone who is about 5 foot nothing against a 6 foot 4 centre half. We have been rather frustrating to watch this season, but it's certainly better to what it was last season.

Having said that, still a long way to go and plenty of football to be played from now until the end of the season  :scarf:

This issue of strikers has been ongoing problem.  Margetts injured and missed so many games.  Gold a big un but not renowned for his work rate and at times couldn’t hit a cows ass with the side of a banjo.  Williams, one question.  Why did AL sign him?

I know decent goal scores are worth their weight in pig muck and don’t come cheap.  Yet Aldershot got  their current leading goal scorer from us for nothing.  Josh Barrett has scored 10 goals from 22 for the Shots.  Imagine what 10 goals at NL would equate to in our League.  AL got rid of him as  he couldn’t get a tune out of him.  Does that say more about AL or Barrett ?

Ok Barrett won’t win any prizes for his work rate but the lad gets you goals.  Something we have struggled with up top this season.  I remember a certain Gary Lineker not being the greatest in terms of work rate but he knew where the back of the net was.   Sometimes a player might not fit your MO but if he gets you the end result.  Does that really matter.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I guess things look entirely different when one has to sit on the other side of the booking office!

Al’s analysis didn’t quite make sense.  He recognised that P’bro’ had two forwards who were “mobile and quick”, then said the opponents played the game at a slower pace than we would want. Good job they did!  He should pick a team that is as quick and mobile as possible himself because it beats a stodgy defensive team 9 games out of 10…

I think he meant after they were ahead, they slowed it down
