A little knowledge may be dangerous, but knowing nothing while thinking you know it all is far worse.

So having read the forum yesterday I got the impression that we were pretty lame to say the least.

But in the LN article Lakeland appeared to blame the pitch, names a couple of players, bewails the fact that potential signings have gone elsewhere and anything else he could think of.

Nowhere does he take any blame himself 😕

Oh, I forgot the one about our location 🙄

The fans apparently escaped censure this time, but I'm sure we'll be back in the next report.

He's now starting to come across to me as delusional 😔

And I know we've been up in the playoffs for a while, until yesterday, but perhaps it says more about the opposition playing badly than us playing well. Time will tell ⏰😒

Most Managers always protect their own backs.  So a culture of blaming everything except themselves tends to be the order of the day.  They can’t blame the team because they bring the players to the Club and play them.

The idea we missed out on Sam Osbourne seems strange one.  Have we not got enough wide players in the squad?  With no strikers on the bench again yesterday surely that has to be the priority.

Go back to Culverhouse he look for locally for his signings.  Didn’t do him any harm, at this level.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

If his boss never takes any blame for anything why should Adam Lakeland?

I'm a bit surprised that he didn't also bemoan the fact that they were unlucky to come up against two Campbells who condensed the action into the conversion of two scoring opportunities?

Having a full time squad at this level appears to be a Millstone around the Clubs neck.

That's twice we have been told a player didn't want to join as we were a full time club, and of course why Gash left a couple of seasons ago.

I'm struggling to find the benefit of it.

:scarf: Commentators keep going on about local players just how local is local. A L is correct KL as a town is off the beaten track with poor link roads and culturally when compared to other places. We would do better with a northern or northern midland training area with players from that area who treat KL as an away game considering the balance of where the opposition play in this league. If I remember correctly we had a midlands based manage who ran a good team until the club went bust

We actually played very well and I think if we put in performances like that against most teams in most games we would get a result. We had 20 shots compared to their 5. I don’t know who your sources are for performance of the game but it would indicate that your sources may have not been at the game.

I am pretty sure he lives 15 minutes away from Alfreton, so there’s your answer.

Think you are missing the point Uptoon.  Surely it’s a 9 ( or 10) we need not yet another wide player.  Think we are covered in that area.  Saturday we had no striker on the bench.  So with chasing the game we had little to no option to change things.

Definitely agree, so reminiscent of Widdrington signing non forwards when we couldn’t score. The only decent forward we have is Margetts, so if he isn’t scoring we will struggle. AL has a forward currently on trial, but get the feeling he isn’t quite up to it. Would like to see an approach put in for Toll. As well as we played yesterday, we need to score goals and it’s normally forwards that do that. Playoffs are still there to go for, so I'm sure AL is doing everything he can.
