Question everything!

:scarf: Chester ran their socks off and were ahead of KLTFC in thought and deed just as when they visited last season.

Cully was quite scathing  of his team in his post match interview.   Described it as men against boys.  That was a worry as at the fans forum he said the way forward was to get youngsters in who could be improved.

Looked a very limited bench once again.  Maybe Vera could tell us if Bal will give him a few quid to improve things ?
It's ok Vera  I won't hold my breath. I understand why you might not be able to answer questions

Need to bring some old heads and fighters back in,people like Gashy,Fryatt and Macca to start? Not necessarily them but people of their ilk,not afraid to go in!
Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one.

Outclassed, best team won.
Chester's strip colour was too similar to ours, surprised the refereee allowed that, was especially difficult to distinguish in the second half as it  got dark.
Marriott out injured for 6 plus weeks, Gyasi loaned out (won't be back). Our number 9 say no more.
Morgan Williams man of the match, got subbed off. For Macclesfield, I would like to see all 3 of the on loan players start and a replacement for our number 9.

Mall, to be fair IC also said he needed a core of the side to enable youngsters to come in and improve and we weren't there yet with that core, telling that he was already looking at 26-27 so that's probably an acceptance that it is going to be difficult to move some of the players currently on contract so we have to make the best of the situation.  Also said after the game today on Radio Norfolk that you can't bring too many of the youngsters in all at once (missing RHJ & Mazza today)

Thought IC's post match interview on the club website was spot on, Chester came and played well, managed every aspect of the game and we were second best.  That said, I thought IC's substitutions didn't help us but maybe some of the younger players aren't yet used to Sat-midweek-Sat or he was just rolling the dice?

Thanks for tidying that up Tony.

One of the things I don't get  is the striker situation. Ok we can't push the young ones to hard so need experience mixed in with them.  Gyasi ticks that box and scores goals yet we have farmed in off to Kiddie.  This one has never been explained away by the Club or even been asked about in any interview.

Think the Club needs to let the fans in on this big mystery.

One other little point from the Forum the other night.  Cully said basically we can't afford to turn part time players into full time as the cost is very prohibitive.  If you take a player like Clunan then are his days numbered at the Club as it must have been very expensive to lure him away from his profession.

With regard to Gyasi the issue is personal to the player and it would be inappropriate to discuss this publicly on a forum. No conspiracy just respecting the player. Obviously everyone would agree the lad got off to a great start and there is no doubt he is a player but things happen in life besides football.
At the forum last week I think what Ian was saying is that we are currently a full time Club and to ask a currently part time player to come in he would need to go full time to fit in. If the lads got a decent full time job why would he give it up to take a chance on football unless the money offered was exceptional.

Thanks Vera, see wasnt to difficult, was it?    So is Gyasi likely to be returning to us this season or are the personal reasons likely to get sorted at Kiddie and can't be sorted at Lynn ?

I appreciate the reasons must remain confidential to protect the player. However as you seem to know the issue can we assume so to the owners of the Club.  Jo/Bal and The Trust.

That of course creates its own issues in so much as the Trust consists of 130 people.  Or on this occasion would the Trust board be asked to keep this from the membership?

I think it all depends on an individual's circumstances . I work with people who rely on the money to support their family and others who work for holidays weekends away etc

Mall, not picking on you but the idea that 'if the Trust knows then ALL the Trust members should know' every bit of information about the internal running of the club is a strange idea to me.  Maybe this hasn't been communicated well enough or maybe the Trust directors are still working on arrangements with the club but there are things that the Trust board will find out (in time maybe through the Trust having a director on the club board) that are rightfully kept within the management group and I think personnel matters, as appears to be the case with Gyasi, would be a clear example of this.  In fact if this issue has been shared with the Trust board then I think questions need to be asked of the club as to whether this was appropriate - I don't see any reason for anyone outside of BS, IC, PB and JS to know anything more than Veritas has posted.

Part of the problem is, as B&G alluded to on another thread, there are too many people connected to the club who don't really understand the meaning of confidential for whatever reason and this the snowballs to the situation the club finds itself in where lots of people think they are 'in the know' or worse still, think they have a right to know every little detail about the club.  Having said all of that the club could also step up and produce some proper information about player availability, financial information etc that it wouldn't be unreasonable to share with fans that might help fill some of the vacuum where rumours start

Confidential HR, financial, contractual & personal matters at other supporter owned clubs, are usually discussed in private session. Before observers are allowed to join the Board Meeting.

Trust AGM after Christmas. If you wish to stand for election to the board Mall, I'll happily sign your nomination form. Someone with your thirst for knowledge and good governance would be welcome

Mallard

Good points there Tony. You are spot on with the comment about stuff being leaked out. The  Gyasi situation being a case in point.

Rosey that's not a possibility for so many reasons. Not being a member now is just one.  However reading your posts and the insight you seem to have in the Club, The Trust and Football in general you would be a decent acquisition to the board.
