I was there - bad day at the office - lets move on to Tuesday night away to Buxton (maybe pick up a point) and then a must win game at home on Saturday against Oxford City!
#3
I'm hoping for a signing or two announced in the morning before tomorrow game.

Tickets for the match can be purchased here
https://macclesfieldfc.ticketco.events/uk/en/e/macclesfield_fc_vs_kings_lynn_town

Here's the normal AI generated places to drink / eat before the match (and websites it found the info)

Macclesfield away this weekend. You'll be heading to the Leasing.com Stadium (London Road, Macclesfield, SK11 7SP). ([Macclesfield FC – How to find us][1])

TL;DR plan

* Coach crew: likely arrive around 13:45 (9:45 + ~3h15 + ~45min stop) → head straight for Bar Twenty Seven at the ground (food + pints) or jump into town for a "proper pub". ([Food at Bar 27][2])
* Drivers: stadium car park exists but limited (behind South Stand) so assume street parking around the ground or use a town centre car park then taxi/walk. ([Macclesfield FC – How to find us][1]) ([Cheshire East car parks list][3])
* Tickets (league): Adult £19 seated / £18 standing; Concession £15 / £14; Student £12 / £11; U18 £9 / £8; U12 £4 / £3.50. ([Macclesfield FC ticket prices 2025/26][4])

---

Pubs (best options)

At/next to the ground

* Bar Twenty Seven (at the stadium) – easiest for big groups; kitchen listed as 4–9pm Mon–Fri and bar open late; great if we're tight for time. ([Food at Bar 27][2])

Town centre (better "away day" pubs)
(~5 mins in a taxi from the ground, or a longer walk)

* The Castle – top-class real ale pub with a historic interior; food served daily (note: CAMRA says no hot food Mon–Wed). ([CAMRA – The Castle][5])
* The Fountain (Park Green) – handy central spot with food listed 9am–9pm daily (Sun to 6pm). ([The Fountain – Park Green][6])
* The Dolphin – community pub with cask ale and pub games; good shout if you want something traditional. ([Robinsons – The Dolphin][7])

---

Something to eat (quick + easy)

* Bar Twenty Seven – the simplest "arrive → eat → drink → turnstiles" option. ([Food at Bar 27][2])
* The Fountain – long food hours listed (good if you arrive early). ([The Fountain – Park Green][6])
* The Castle – good food reputation but watch the Mon–Wed hot food note. ([CAMRA – The Castle][5])

---

Drivers: parking

* At the ground: Macclesfield say they do have a car park behind the South Stand, but spaces are limited. They also say there's roadside parking nearby (park considerately). ([Macclesfield FC – How to find us][1])
* Town centre car parks: Cheshire East Council list multiple Macclesfield car parks (locations + prices), useful if you'd rather park up centrally then taxi/walk. ([Cheshire East car parks list][3])

Tip for drivers: if you're doing the "town pub first" plan, park in a council car park (easier), have a couple in town, then grab a short taxi to the ground.

---

Ground address

* Leasing.com Stadium, London Road, Macclesfield, SK11 7SP. ([Macclesfield FC – How to find us][1])

Rescheduled for Tuesday 17th March @ 7:45pm - St. Patrick's Day!!!

There was talk of a 3G pitch, but that's something that would be changed after the season is done.

I do like the grass pitch, but if we don't want games postponed and are looking at generating extra cash for the club in the long run then 3G is the way to go.

I was at last nights home game (Worksop) and told there will be a coach for the Macclesfield FC away game.

When it goes on sale tickets will be available here

https://kingslynntownfc.ktckts.com/brand/travel

I'd think somewhere between £25-£30.

If using public transport best price I could find was bus and 3 trains at £56.10 return (without railcard).

I'll post more info nearer the time as normal, but will keep checking and post again once I see the coach tickets on sale.

Not heard anything about a coach for this game and no way travel tickets for sale on the club website.

I did also which public transport - seems a no go for the weekend as lots of engineering works.

So that just means driving - without any stops 3.5 to 4 hours.

The following things to do, places to eat/drink generated by AI as normal (and where it found stuff), but with the car driver in mind.

Radcliffe's a proper away. You'll be heading to the Neuven Stadium (M26 3PE); most of the good pubs and food are in Radcliffe town centre (10–15 min walk) with easy matchday parking nearby. Here's a clean, driver-friendly plan plus *whether public transport is realistically possible this weekend*.

TL;DR plan

* Park at Radcliffe Cricket Club (~5 min walk, typically £2 per car). Stadium car park is for players/officials, with limited Blue Badge bays. ([Chorley FC][1])
* Pre-match pubs (town centre):
  * The Bridge Tavern – big Marston's pub, sport on, does value food. ([The Bridge Tavern][2])
  * Lock Keeper – solid chain option for quick plates + pints. ([Sizzling Pubs][3])
  * Wilton Arms – classic Holt's local, short hop from the ground. ([Joseph Holt][4])
  * (Extras if you're exploring: New Inn, Victoria Hotel in the centre.) ([Tripadvisor][5])
* Food at/near ground: kiosks inside the Neuven; or eat in the pubs above for fastest turnaround. (Kiosks regularly open pre-KO.) ([Chester Football Club][6])
* Tickets: online in advance or on the day – Adults £15, Concessions £10 (U16s often free with adult). ([radcliffefc.ticketco.events][7])

---

Parking & getting in

* Best bet: Radcliffe Cricket Club – signed on the day; about £2 per car; 5-minute walk. ([Chorley FC][1])
* At the stadium: on-site parking is generally not for supporters (players/officials), though **Blue Badge** holders can usually be accommodated—ask stewards. ([Chorley FC][1])
* Ground address + driving approach: club page lists route via M60 J17 → A665 → Unsworth St → Colshaw Close East to the Neuven. ([radcliffefc.com][8])

Pubs & quick eats (walkable)

* Closest cluster is in town around Blackburn St / Stand Ln: Bridge Tavern, Lock Keeper, Victoria Hotel. All do quick pub grub and are used to football traffic. ([The Bridge Tavern][2])
* Traditional local a touch nearer the ground: Wilton Arms (Joseph Holt) for a proper pint before strolling over. ([Joseph Holt][4])

Tickets (current home match pricing)

* Radcliffe's TicketCo page for Radcliffe v King's Lynn Town – Sat 7 Feb 2026 shows Adult £15 / Concession £10; buy online or pay at the gate if available. ([radcliffefc.ticketco.events][7])

Public transport — any workable option?

* National Rail: you mentioned heavy engineering works; official advice is to check the Future Engineering Works planner for your exact date, but from King's Lynn you'd need multiple changes to reach Manchester then onward—practically tricky this weekend. ([National Rail][9])
* Metrolink to Radcliffe: if you can reach Manchester Victoria, trams run to Radcliffe (about 23 mins), then ~10 min walk to the ground. Always check Bee Network/TFGM alerts for any Bury line works on the day. ([Rome2Rio][10])
(Given likely disruption and the distance from King's Lynn, driving is the sensible call.)

Nice en-route stops (A47/A1 → M62/M60 route)

Pick one outbound and one on the way back:

* Quick services (fast & easy):

  * Grantham North (Gonerby Moor) Services – big Moto site; fuel/food. ([National Rail][9])
  * Ferrybridge Services – ideal last stop before the M62 leg. ([National Rail][9])

* More interesting leg-stretch (short detours):

  * Newark Air Museum – outdoorsy aviation fix; easy parking; quick wander and coffee. ([National Rail][9])
  * Wetherby (town) – handsome market town a few mins off A1(M) if you fancy a café rather than services. (General suggestion; no single source needed.)

---

Simple matchday flow (drivers)

1. Park at Radcliffe Cricket Club (aim ~90 mins before KO). ([Chorley FC][1])
2. Walk into town for Bridge Tavern or Lock Keeper (food & a pint). ([The Bridge Tavern][2])
3. Stroll to the Neuven Stadium; grab a last drink/food inside if needed. ([radcliffefc.com][8])

If you want, tell me your rough ETA and how many cars you've got—I'll pin a shareable route (Cricket Club → pubs → away turnstiles) and add a couple of backup food options within 10 minutes' walk.

General Discussion / Re: Leamington pitch inspection
January 27, 2026, 01:45:50 PM
Postponed

Following a pitch inspection, today's match has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

A torrential downfall in the day following constant heavy rain overnight has made the pitch unplayable.

Good to know. Way before I set off for the match, but hoping it's good news and the games on.

Troso, Davis and Goodman playing together could be quite the trio. Hope I get to see that at tomorrows match.
