Without adding pressure the next two games could be important and a good opportunity to collect points against teams below us in the league table currently 17th and 22nd. In the last two seasons the total points needed to avoid relegation has been 40 points and Blyth Spartans getting relegated with 50 points so the quicker that level of points is achieved the better.
Of course nobody should be taken lightly whatever there current league position but hopefully 6 points gained over the holiday period will allow us to look forward in 2026.
I'm sure like all fans we wish the team and management all the best for Xmas and the New Year and a big crowd on Boxing Day to really get behind them.

And here's the normal AI generated places to drink / eat before the match (and websites it found the info) - with the coach leaving the walks at 4.45 we'll likely arrive at the ground with over an hour before kick off.

Bedford Town away means The Eyrie, Meadow Lane, Cardington (MK44 3LW). With a Tuesday 7:45pm KO and your coach due about 6:15–6:30pm, the simplest plan is: club bar or one of the two nearby pubs, then in. Here's the no-faff version.

Pubs (closest & reliable)

Eagles Bar (clubhouse, at The Eyrie) – open on matchdays; quickest option for a pint right before the turnstiles.
CAMRA - The Campaign for Real Ale

The King's Arms, Cardington (10–12 min walk) – proper village pub with full food menu; easy stroll back to the ground.
The Kings Arms

The Anchor, Cardington Road (5–6 min drive / short taxi) – big screens, mainstream pub grub; good if you arrive a touch earlier or want guaranteed seating.
Greene King

Quick eats

Club kiosks & bar food – pies/burgers/chips inside the ground and via the clubhouse.
Pitchero

Beefeater – Priory Marina (Bedford) – chain steak/burger menu; takes groups (bookable). ~5–10 min drive from the ground if anyone detours by car.
Beefeater

McDonald's (Goldington Rd) – nearest guaranteed fast option if you pass it; handy for a quick bite.
McDonald's

Coach timing (leaves The Walks 4:45pm)

Trip ~1½ hrs ⇒ expect ~6:15–6:30pm by the ground. That gives you: Eagles Bar for one and a bite → turnstiles. If traffic is kind and you're earlier, King's Arms is the best "proper pub then walk back" option.
Pitchero

(Bonus) Drivers in your group

On-site parking at The Eyrie – available to supporters (recent info shows a small charge; signage/stewards on arrival). Important: don't park in the neighbouring Bedford FC car park further along Meadow Lane; it gets locked.
Pitchero

It's always nice to be thanked for my efforts and I do appreciate it.

Looks like there are 37 booked for the coach - so still some places available for those who would like a nice easy away day - well evening really.

Just had a listen to Cully's post match intereview.  One of his 'Waspie' unhappy ones.   Don't see he can lay the blame all at the players door.  He is asking the same players to go again every few days.  Illness, some carrying knocks some out of sorts.  What does he expect ?

I fear for Saturday if he goes with the same players again we could be on the wrong side of one. How things have changed since we turned Merthyr over at home.

Still as Vera said we did raise a grand from the Xmas draw.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about ?

Mall, if you were there last night, waspie was exactly the right tone.  IC can only select from the resources he has available, he did swap a few things round last night and to be fair we looked a bit better and more balanced in midfield but we didn't create much and there are a number of players I am sure he would like to give a rest to but who does he replace them with?

In his post Peterborough interview he said Doherty was a week, RHJ another couple and Mazza five weeks so we have what we had last night plus maybe Gold?  I think many of us fear the worst with the respective form but Hereford were on a worse run than us and got a point last night so lets keep hoping.

dillydilly

The Dillathon computer has deduced that the Manager is wrong to blame the players, and us punters are wrong to blame the Manager. He needs to know players who are better, and the money to attract them.  We are doing as well as possible with a set that lacks creative players, but that can't change until both problems are cured. It's good enough to survive when the injured return.  HNY to all at the club and supporters.

Mallard

Tony, For sure Cully can only put out what he has available to him, but then he can't lay all the blame at the players door when he asking them to climb out of sick beds or play when they aren't 100%  fit.  You can only drawer from well so many times before you come up empty.

Cully has to take his share of the blame for allowing this situation to continue.  The real culprit of the situation is further up the food chain.
Time questions were asked about how the Club is being run and in what direction Bal is taking it.

Seems money is an issue, though it didn't seem an issue when Rowe was in charge ( apparently well in charge). So what's changed ?  Funds must have come in now from Trust. So why aren't we getting players in rather than having to go with a bench where only 3 players are even fit enough to actually play.?

Wouldn't disagree with you on where the ultimate responsibility lies but what do you suggest IC does?  Looks like as many have been taken off the payroll since the start of the season with departures and loan deals so we are presumably left with what Bal deems a workable budget.  Hopefully there is room for at least one addition if the rumours on Tuesday evening were true as the player mentioned would certainly add something we are lacking and would probably be one of those IC could build the 2026-27 squad around.  The problem is that to make any further adjustments to the squad would probably mean losing one or more of the higher earners who you would imagine are the more experienced players so catch 22 for IC and even then are there clubs willing to take them?  I think on current form you are probably only looking at Wilson (who would be a huge loss imo) and maybe Williams attracting any sort of interest.

Mallard

When Lakeland went we were told the budget was cut by 30%.  🤦♂️.  Then we saw the squad put together in terms of numbers and quality. So why was Cully not given the same opportunity.  Is he considered a lesser Manager ?  So not worthy of the same monies.

Just find it a joke that Cully is filling the bench up with players who are not even fit enough to play any part in the game. It's not a good look.

I do wonder if Cully actually was fully aware of what he was signing up for this time, or were the goalposts moved soon after he signed up.

What can Cully do ? Front it up would be my answer and just tell it like it is rather than hammering the players while seemingly protecting other(s) who are more deserving.

Tennylad

The word around Chorley manager Preece when he was strongly linked with the club was that he wanted to bring 3 experienced players to the club to help the younger players. This was denied him, hence he didn't come . Why would you refuse him then go and give IC the funds .

Are you saying that's the choice Bal has created for himself Rosey ?

Newspaper's view

"Ian Culverhouse's post-match interview after Tuesday night's 4-2 defeat at Bedford Town felt more revealing than most.

The immediate frustration was clear, but beneath the surface, there were hints that all may not be entirely settled behind the scenes at King's Lynn Town FC.

Culverhouse repeatedly returned to the same themes: poor goals conceded, a failure to do "the ugly side" of the game, and a vulnerability that he admitted has been "brewing for a little while".

His blunt response to questions on set-piece defending - "nothing by the looks of it" - suggested a manager short of answers, or perhaps short of options.

What also stood out was the absence of any mention of solutions in the transfer market.

With the new ownership now in place, supporters will naturally wonder whether Culverhouse is being allowed to shape the squad as he sees fit, or whether financial constraints left behind by the previous regime have tied his hands.

When a manager talks about issues that have been ongoing but offers no indication of reinforcement, questions are inevitable.

Ahead of Saturday's daunting trip to Merthyr Town, Culverhouse spoke of regrouping against a very good side.

The concern is whether this vulnerability is merely a temporary wobble or the first visible crack in a wider structural problem that Lynn must address quickly".
