Rushall away
« on: January 27, 2025, 08:44:20 PM »
With the exception of their 7-0 defeat against Spennymoor, Rushall have had four wins recently beating the likes of Scunthorpe and Kidderminster, so anyone thinking we should win their May want to have a rethink. We had a narrow 2-1 win when we played them at home, goal scorers were Margetts and Omotayo. They are unlikely to be in the team tomorrow, so will need to rely on others scoring, maybe a new loanee forward. To keep a nice gap between us and 8th spot, a win would be very useful.

Sorry John not buying into that.  Away to one of the bottom 4 Clubs has to be targeted as an expected 3 points.  Radcliffe on Saturday the same.  Now is the time to deliver as there will be much harder games coming after this where we can’t realistically expect to gain wins.

I see AL is on record as saying there will be at least two changes tonight.  Does this mean he was happy with 8 of the outfield players on Saturday ?  More likely his hands are tied as the squad is rather thin at the moment.  He also said he was bringing another body in. A striker hopefully.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Rushall will be similar to Sports I would have thought.....similar opposition, similar Lynn eleven.

Obviously hope for a win, but not sure where it will come from tbh

If Margets is fit and plays, we'll win.

If he's not fit/doesn't play, we could struggle.

A little knowledge may be dangerous, but knowing nothing while thinking you know it all is far worse.

I hope you’re right Mallard, would be great to get all 3 points. Although just because a team is in a play off spot is playing a team in a relegation spot, doesn’t guarantee a win. Having just seen our starting 11, with no recognised forward again, we may struggle to score. Can see AL’s post match interview saying “it’s always a hard place to go, especially on a rainy Tuesday evening’. Hope I’m wrong, but could see us losing. Guess Margetts will come on at some point, but he can’t be fully fit, otherwise he would have started. Predicting a 2-1 defeat. Never good at predictions, so hoping that continues.

0-0 two points dropped or 1 point gained.  I wonder which way AL will see it ?

Probably a point gained. Were we ever going to score, it sounded pretty dire along with the commentator, where on earth did they get him from, embarrassing and littered with mistakes and dross.
Not being able to score is going to cost us any chance of a play off.

Definitely agree we need a goal scorer, not sure where we score from at the moment.

However, I listened to the radio commentary for the first time yesterday and thought the chap was actually very good, knowledgeable and easy to listen to. Personal preference i suppose!  :scarf: :scarf:

A bit harsh from John H
If the guy is passionate about doing commentary and prepared to give up his time I don’t think comments like yours are very helpful. Not having to hunt around for links to be able to listen and feel involved in our club is a great asset. If John thinks he can do better put your name forward.

He’s obviously a very young Norfolk chap, injects a bit of humour and wants the team to do well. All good traits in my book but I suppose some would prefer a more mature voice, but for me as long as a commentator helps you picture the game, which I feel he does very good, that’s A-ok with me!

Yes..the most important thing for me is someone who paints a picture of what's going on where. I think he does it very well...keep going young man !

Linnets commentary is a bonus for us far away supporters. Motty had to start somewhere. If you want dross and endless betting adverts try Talksport.....has to be last resort. What is Stuart Pearce and Ally Mc doing with that outfit. Money I suppose.
