Chester Today

Where’s Gold today?  Is he injured?  If not, why is he not at least on the bench?  And I still bemoan the fact that Hughes is nowhere…but what can you do!

How many times this year have we lined up defensively and oh so predictably.Chester didn't take long to work us out. Then we need to turn into an attacking outfit which isn't in our managers DNA.

We where outclassed today by a better side but we did have our chances the big difference today was they had 3 chance and scored we had five or six chances and didn’t score, but we have had a great season this time last season we were fighting Relegation and this season we are in the play offs so it’s a big thankyou to Adam

Job done.  Play offs here we go.  Disappointing way to end the regular League but sadly this team always has that kinda result in them.  It happens every few weeks or so.   Our defence does ride its luck at times and with no real 20 goals plus striker in our ranks it’s always going to be a struggle once we go behind.

Feel disappointed for SC as a 5th place finish would have given us a home draw and a real gate to boast the coffers.

Why was Gold missing today ?

Not been a great day for Lynn Managers, past and present.  Lakeland stuffed at home. Widdler humped 4-0 on the Road and Cully done 5-2 at Truro.  Setch  got a win to save the day.

On the subject of Truro they clinched promotion to the National League.  900 mile round trip to Gateshead is one nice day or two out.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Poor end to the season and if the players can’t manage such a game when a point was crucial then what of Tuesday?  We were lucky other results helped us. We have a second chance…but in all honesty, I think we’ll get stuffed on Tuesday. Mind you, I don’t think promotion would help given our squad and the finances. Better to build for a better season next year…consolidating what we’ve gained in this last campaign which has, to be fair, been better overall than expected.

How refreshing to see passing football, shame it was Chester and not us. Yes, disappointing result, but still got into the playoffs. Not too worried about it being away, though pleased it isn’t at Chester, as it could have been. It’s straight knockout stuff now, no pressure of being at home and our pitch isn’t the best. Big ask to win 3 games against good teams, but stranger things have happened.
It took us 33 minutes to have a shot at goal. Better in the second half, but maybe partly because Chester were in a very comfortable position and took their foot off the gas.
Straight from the kick-off, we just hoof the ball out to the left wing and concede possession, exactly the same from the restart after going 1-0 down. Long balls throughout the game, really need to take a leaf out if Chester’s book and pass the ball, keeping possession.
Good luck in the play offs

Okay, ay the start of the season, if we were offered a 6th place finish, we would all have accepted it, gleefully.

However a 6th placed finish after occupying 5th place before kick off is disappointing.

I don't think the boo's were warranted, but today was extremely poor - to have given ourselves the opportunity of a home tie in the play offs, but throw it away is shocking.

The "happy clappers" will always be that, they'd be content just turning up at The Walks to watch the grass grow - but anyone with any ambition will know that today wasn't good enough.

Do you think Cleeve, Lakeland, Sam Walker, Josh Coulson, Hmami, etc. will be sitting ay home tonight "happy" just because we reached the play offs???

We as fans (customers or whatever - today isn't the time for that debate) shouldn't be happy either

We got lucky today - simple as that = that Curzon and Hereford didn't both win, otherwise there'd be no more matches this season.

It was in our hands and we let it slip

The manager thinks alot of us Lynn fans have a sense of entitlement and could do with abit of Northern grit.
We the (customers) pay his wages the last time I checked so yes we are entitled to expect certain things. As for Northern grit I think he will find it back at Farsley or Curzon

It wasn’t Northern grit that beat us today. It was proper football by a team with all the players while we had none. Chester were excellent. They played nippy skilful football throughout.  The first half looked like Barcelona versus Scunthorpe Muckworks. Haven’t been for a long while, but I thought Crane looked a player, but virtually no one else.  Crowe and Sass can have another go, but we need a large influx of players, found by a manager who knows that skill and slickness will beat kick and head volleyball every day of the week!  Good luck vs Chorley, but we’ll have park the bus and sneak a couple of hooligans on as well and hope for a breakaway and a 90 degree deflection off of a defenders backside for a winner….  But COYL!!!
