Another Manager who fancies Gold.  I must be missing something 🤷‍♂️.

The new lad has a decent pedigree.  Good to see things happening.

Early Bird season ticket offer next ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I expect Gold to get 15 plus goals next season if used properly. He’s mobile for a big guy and scores as many with his feet as his head. He scored 20 plus a couple of seasons ago-no reason why he can’t get close to that again.Lakeland never seemed to fancy or understand him. Despite that and injury he was still joint top scorer last season.

Really don’t understand that post 465. JB wanted out and almost downed tools to get away. Gold in contrast Gold has stuck around despite negative comments like yours and at the end of last season was the only main goal scorer and a big reason as to why we scraped into the playoffs. He scored as many as Margetts even tho he was second choice when Margetts was fit. I didn’t hear too many slagging Margetts off though. Surely at this time of change in the club it’s a chance for fans to come together and be supportive of the whole squad.

There are different opinions of Gold and I’ve never been a big fan. As a number 9, I / we probably expect him to score 30 goals a season. Last year, I believe it was 10 plus 1 assist. I think we have to accept he probably going to do that, there are t too many centre forwards that do. I agree with Pink, in that we should all support and encourage him and all the team. It’s a fresh start for everyone and I’m confident in JR’s ability to bring in good players and to play a much more entertaining style of football to the long ball stuff of last season.

Gold starts with a clean slate next season given the right service he may well score 20+ goals. If he had scored that many last season he would be gone as some other club would have snapped him up. Every club is looking for a 20+ goal striker  at least we have a striker

:scarf: I can only say that yes I agree with everyone. Starts with a clean sheet however until the last  or 3 home games Gold seemed to lack a physical presence and I feel that AL' s assessment was spot on. I am not the only supporter who felt the same last season.

Last few games he gave us a glimpse of what he can do,hopefully he will carry this over into the new season? I myself would like to see a bit more aggressive play from him, more of a presence on the pitch? :dontknow:
Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one.

A big frontman needs crosses coming in the box which he didn’t get with the last manager he hardly ever started with two wingers even when we had them both sitting on the bench,he always played not to lose imo
